This series has more to it than what you see from other alternate-universe series. It has surpassed all of them.  As a matter of fact, it can be ranked together with the best of the universal century era series.

Digging dipper, you will realize that it is not just about battles and warfare.  In this series main character, Kira Yamato will undergo a lot of struggle that is experienced by any normal individual.  The pain he felt when the colony he was living in was conquered and devastated in the war.  His efforts to protect the lives of other innocent people as well as those of the people that matters most to him will definitely leave a mark in your heart and mind.  The fights between him and his best friend will reveal the true nature of human heart and friendship.

A very moving plot coupled with an astounding soundscape will surely make you more absorbed to the different situations in the different scenes.  You will ask for more after you have finished watching an episode after episode.  It has a lot to offer, music, moral, visual effects, and story.

If you are a parent, there are some features of Gundam that you may want to take note of.  It is best that you know that there are mature scenes involved in this series.  The story is also too complex for children to understand.   It is not recommended for very young viewers.   Each character may portray some actions or behaviors that may be mis-interpreted by children watching it.  Parental guidance is highly recommended.

This is somehow the downside I observe in the Gundam Seed series.  However for those who are in the legal age and mature state of mind have nothing to worry for this element of Gundam seed.  You should just beware that you explain or do not let young minds to misinterpret the said mature scenes incorporated.

In totality, Gundam Seed is one of the best released Gundam series ever.  Gundam lovers and fan-addicts will surely love and treasure Gundam seed.
